McGavin was a fan favourite at Plainmoor, appearing 75 times and scoring 11 goals, but now joins Yeovil, who won the National League South title last season.
He will team up with former Town forward Frank Nouble, who helped the Glovers earn promotion to the fifth tier in 2023/24.
On joining for Yeovil, he said: “I got a phone call from the gaffer (manager Mark Cooper) early on and I was quite interested right away.
“I’d played here a few times and felt it was the perfect move for me based on the style of play, so it was an easy sale.
“I am excited to get started. I spoke with Frank (Nouble), who was with me in Torquay, and he suggested it would be a good move for me, which I agree with, so I’m quite thrilled to get started.
McGavin made 11 appearances for Town, progressing through the academy before being released in 2022.
Another previous academy graduate, Byron Lawrence, has joined Southern League Premier Division Central club St. Ives Town following his departure from Needham Market.
Lawrence joined Town at the age of 14 and worked his way up to the first team, making one substitute appearance for the Blues against Doncaster in 2012, when he was only 16 and 47 days old.
