The final 2024 draft class member is recorded. Bengals first-rounder Amarius Mims marked his newbie contract on Monday, per a group declaration.

Recapping the Bengals’ offseason This agreement is valued at $15.37MM full ensured more than four years. A $7.99 million signing bonus is included in that sum.

Like all Day 1 picks, Mims will be under team control until at least 2027. After that, a fifth-year option could keep him in the fold for another season.

Cincinnati needed a lot of right tackle after Jonah Williams left in free agency. The team signed Trent Brown to a one-year contract as planned to find a short-term option at the position.

To little shock, however, a few first-round possibilities were viewed as in the number one spot in to the draft. Mims, the Bengals’ No. 1 pick, was one of those. 18.

During his time at Georgia, the 6-3, 340-pounder displayed a lot of potential. However, injuries and more established options on the depth chart severely limited his playing time.

Mims started his first two games in the College Football Playoffs in 2022 before starting three games at right tackle in 2023.

He had to have tightrope surgery on his ankle, which cost him the rest of the season and threatened to hurt his draft stock.

Despite this, Mims’ potential enabled him to be selected in the top 20 and he will enter the NFL with high expectations.

On the books in time for Wednesday (Cincinnati’s most memorable instructional course practice), Mims will spend the late spring rivaling Brown for the first-group RT gig.

The group’s inclination would probably be a redshirt new kid on the block crusade given his absence of game reps in school, yet Mims’ exhibition throughout the next few weeks will direct the way that early he sees the field at the NFL level.
