This week, the family of Southern California drag racer John Force revealed that the 16-time NHRA champion was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury following a terrifying 300-mph crash that resulted in Force moving to outpatient care.
According to his family, the 75-year-old Force, who was born in Bell Gardens and currently resides in Yorba Linda, returned home on Monday after spending 15 days in a hospital in Virginia and a brief period of time at an Arizona rehabilitation center.
In a statement released on Tuesday by John Force Racing, daughter Ashley Force Hood stated, “He finally gets to sleep in his own bed.”
Brittany Force, her daughter, included a picture of her father smiling and giving a thumbs up from his hospital bed in an Instagram post.
The statement says that Force was released from the Barrow Neurological Institute, where he had been rehabbing since early July.
He will get short term treatment and discourse, word related and exercise based recuperation for waiting transient memory and mental issues while recuperating at home, the explanation proceeded.
