Before tonight’s transfer deadline, Derby County is reportedly planning to sign Marcus Harness, a winger for Ipswich Town, on a loan.
As the deadline approaches, the Rams are reportedly “working on” a loan agreement for Harness, according to journalist John Percy, who also notes that the move is “expected to go ahead”.
Harness came to the Tractor Boys from Portsmouth in July 2022, and over the previous two seasons, he was a key member of the team that was promoted from League One to the Premier League twice.

Harness made 39 appearances in all competitions last season, but just 12 of those came from the start, so it’s unclear how much of a regular he will be for Kieran McKenna’s team in the top division.
Although Harness has started as a substitute in all three of Ipswich’s league and cup games this season, it appears that he will be let to leave after Jack Clarke’s signing from Sunderland moved him down the ladder.
