On September 3 at T-Mobile Arena, the Las Vegas Aces defeated the Chicago Sky, who were in a downward spiral, 90-71, to win their third straight game. With another incredible game, A’ja Wilson led the Aces with 30 points and 14 rebounds. Chelsea Gray finished with 13 points and 10 assists, completing a double-double.
Due to an ankle injury, Kelsey Plum was out, but the Aces still won easily. It was her first time out of the game this year. In place of the three-time All-Star, Tiffany Hayes performed admirably, scoring 20 points on 8 of 12 shots, grabbing three rebounds, and dishing out four assists.
With an average of 17.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, Plum, 30, has been a vital member of the Aces’ title defense team. The squad will need her to be fully healthy because the games are anticipated to get closer as we approach the playoffs. With Gray, Hayes, and Jackie Young, the Aces have plenty of depth at guard, but Plum’s reliable performance and mature demeanor are always appreciated. The Aces improved to 21-12 with the win over the Sky, and they now lead the Seattle Storm by one game for fourth place. Conversely, the Sky dropped their seventh game in a row.
On September 6, the Aces will play the Connecticut Sun in an attempt to win four straight games.
