Despite losing to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs the previous season, it appears that the Miami Heat have made the decision to fight back.
During the offseason, they have not added any noteworthy players. Alec Burks has been the Heat’s star acquisition of the summer, so much so.
However, it might be argued that Caleb Martin’s departure to the Philadelphia 76ers has left the roster weaker heading into the 2024–25 campaign. Of course, it is impossible to overlook the Heat’s recent appearance in the NBA Finals.
But a lot has happened since then. Teams that have improved significantly include the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Sixers, while the Celtics have won a championship.
The Heat feel like they have stagnated and have stopped compared to them. Right now, there are a lot of unanswered questions regarding the Heat.
Among them is the question of whether Terry Rozier and Tyler Herro can start together on a team that wants to compete.
Both have been the target of trade rumors in recent weeks. Whether something happens at some time is still to be seen.
Ishaan Bhattacharya proposed a trade on FadeAway World that would send D’Angelo Russell, Jalen Hood-Schifino, and the Heat’s 2029 First-Round Top-10 Protected Pick (LAL) to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Rozier.
It is debatable if Russell would contribute enough to the team to help the Heat win again. Rozier and the Lakers are comparable in this regard.
