Another big injury to 49ers

Uncategorized

In Week 3 against the Rams, it appears as though the Niners might be without yet another potent weapon.
Since 2020, George Kittle’s health has largely remained stable, but there is significant doubt over his availability for the Rams game in Week 3.

If you believe that George Kittle, an All-Pro tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, is prone to injuries, then you should read this NSFW piece by Matt Barrows of The Athletic.
Leaving out the expletives, Barrows noted that Kittle has only missed six of the 62 starts he has missed in the last four seasons, which is hardly indicative of an injury prone player.
However, Kittle’s image as an injury prone player may get some more momentum ahead of the Niners’ Week 3 road game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Kittle was not present for practice on Thursday or Friday, according to reports, with a hamstring injury that may have been caused by San Francisco’s Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It is not exactly great news for head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense because wide receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) is expected to miss at least two weeks due to his injury, so a Kittle absence makes sense.
Kittle’s availability became increasingly clearer after Friday’s practice.
It is also not very good.
George Kittle will probably miss the 49ers’ Week 3 matchup with the Rams.
Kittle added his name to an expanding list of 49ers injuries, which already includes cornerback Charvarius Ward (knee/hamstring) and defensive end Nick Bosa (ribs).
Bosa and Ward are both rated as dubious, while Kittle is rated as doubtful, which is the next worst.
Kittle has only a 25% chance of playing as a result, and it is extremely common for players to be rated as dubious before they do not end up playing.
The Niners have ninety minutes before the game to announce inactives, which is when they have to officially decide on Kittle’s status.
Nonetheless, it appears extremely unlikely that the All-Pro tight end will suit up against the Rams on Sunday, September 22nd, based on the most recent information and developments.
