BREAKING NEWS: JUST IN: Another setback for Georgia ahead of their matchup with Alabama

NFL

The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs (3-0) are up against the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (3-0) in a top-five game on Saturday night, but they have some concerns about their defensive line.

In Week 3, Georgia defeated Kentucky 13–12 while playing without three important defensive linemen, including two starters. This next Saturday at Alabama, following a recuperation week off for Jordan Hall, Warren Brinson, and Mykel Williams, things might be different.
Ankle issues sidelined Williams and Brinson during the season-opening victory over Clemson in Atlanta. Head coach Kirby Smart stated that the starters are getting close to returning after missing the next two games.
On Tuesday, Smart expressed satisfaction with Warren. “Mykel will be with you.”
Warren made some modest practice progress last week, but the SEC’s availability report finally listed him as out against the Wildcats. Georgia should be encouraged that senior Brinson has continued to practice this week.

The injury to Williams is more serious. The junior was wearing a boot during the home opener versus Tennessee Tech in Week 2, which was diagnosed as a grade 2 ankle sprain. Smart mentioned a practice need and stated that he “knows a schedule” for the former All-American.
He needs to be able to practice, according to Smart. “He needs to be able to run, compete, and exert pressure.” He is recovering rather well. He did a fantastic job putting in extra time this past weekend, and we will see where he is at.”

During the preseason, Hall, a sophomore, had stress fractures in both legs. After three games, he has not taken a snap, and it is unclear when he will do so. It was disclosed by Smart that the former five-star had started training before the Kentucky match.

Before the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Wednesday, Friday, and again on Saturday, the conference will make the pregame availability reports public. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).
