To assist the team, the LA Rams took action. Why, then, did not they take action roughly three months earlier?
The Los Angeles Rams football team and its fans may not always agree on player recognition. There is the Ernest Jones IV situation, in which fans adored his no-nonsense demeanor, sure-handed tackling, and ability to lead the defense in run stuffing and tackles, but the football did not. As a result, Jones was exchanged for almost nothing.
Meanwhile, fans are rallying behind undrafted ILB Omar Speights, while the team has unwaveringly supported ILB Troy Reeder. With Reeder’s recent injury, the squad was compelled to give Speights some playing time on defense. Despite Speight’s impressive start, the organization has already taken steps to get another alternative for the ILB position.
However, we have plenty of time to go over the details.
The argument is that this squad responds quickly to some injuries and roster depth issues, but fails to do so in similar scenarios at other positions. What do I mean? When the Los Angeles Rams revealed that experienced (and anticipated) starting defensive back Darious Williams had suffered a hamstring injury in training camp in July 2024, the head management took no action.
The team was at training camp, yes. However, after losing DB Derion Kendrick for the season and replenishing the secondary with new faces, the front office and coaching staff overestimated the quality of the Rams’ remaining healthy players while underestimating the amount of work required to transform that group of players into a cohesive secondary.
