Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson’s wife, Michele Thomson, has been a supportive presence throughout his career. She met Rob in the early 1980s when he was starting his baseball journey with the Stratford Hillers, and they married in 1987. Michele has stood by Rob through his years as a minor and major league coach, and together they have two daughters. The family lived in Tampa, Florida, at one point, balancing the challenges of Rob’s demanding schedule, which often kept him away from home for extended periods. In his Hall of Fame induction speech, Rob expressed gratitude for Michele’s unwavering support, acknowledging the sacrifices she made for his career, particularly during his days in the minor leagues and his role with the Phillies. Rob and Michele’s story is a testament to the strength of their relationship amid the unique lifestyle of a professional baseball family.

Rob Thomson may not have been able to take the Philadelphia Phillies all the way to a World Series victory last fall, but he’s become quite the beloved figure in the City of Brotherly Love all the same.

And that love has seemingly extended to the rest of the baseball world, as Thomson was recently named the second-most handsome MLB manager. According to a popular beauty measurement app, Thomson beat all but Buck Showalter – yes, really! – as one of the most handsome managers in MLB.

When talking to Phillies media on Wednesday, Thomson recalled the moment he told his wife the good news and she had the most hilarious, snarky answer.
