‘Starting to find their feet’ – Ex-Arsenal player sends huge message toTown after win at Spurs

Ipswich Town

Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Ramsey complimented Ipswich Town after their 2-1 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 33-year-old, who made 369 appearances for Arsenal over 11 years and has 86 Wales caps, returned to his boyhood club in the summer of 2023, just weeks before the Bluebirds traveled to Portman Road in the Championship.

He opened the scoring in that game before Joe Ralls added a second, but Town won 3-2 thanks to Nathan Broadhead’s goal and a brace from Freddie Ladapo.

Ramsey was impressed by what he saw from Ipswich in the Championship, particularly their hybrid system that alternates between a 4-2-3-1 and a back five, which he believes will be critical for them to continue playing effectively and winning in the Premier League.

“They were a breath of fresh air, really,” he stated on Planet Premier League. Everyone said the wheels were going to fall off, yet they were unstoppable.

“Last year, we saw a lot of them in their back five, and their wingbacks were crucial.

“It’s no accident that when they switched to a back five against Tottenham, it felt more natural and comfortable for them.

“They’re just getting started, and they’re putting on good performances.

“I’m sure that will continue and they’ll pick up results now, which will go a long way as the season goes on.”
