On Wednesday, the Pro Football Hall of Fame narrowed its 2025 class list to 25 semifinalists, three of which were former Indianapolis Colts.
WR Reggie Wayne
DE Robert Mathis
K Adam Vinatieri
Wayne, who now coaches the Colts’ receivers, spent his entire career in Indianapolis, where he was a six-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro. Wayne finished his career with 14,345 receiving yards and 82 touchdown receptions in 211 games.
Mathis, for his part, spent his whole career with the Colts, appearing in 192 games between 2003 and 2016. Mathis ended his career with 54 forced fumbles, 108 tackles for loss, 141 quarterback hits, and 123 sacks. Mathis won five Pro Bowls and was named to the All-Pro team once.
Finally, after ten years in New England, Vinatieri spent 14 with the Colts. Vinatieri converted 85.3% of his field goal attempts in Indianapolis. His career included three Pro Bowl appearances and three All-Pro selections.
In September, the NFL named 167 modern-era nominees for the 2025 Hall of Fame class. The original list featured eight former Colts players.
Since then, the number of nominations has been cut from 50 to 25. Following this, another vote will be held to reduce the number of nominees to only 15, after which the selection committee will cast its final votes for the official 2025 class.
