2 Bruins Forwards Shockingly Named In NHL Trade Board

One Bruins forward is stunningly on one NHL insiders trade bait board already for the 2024-25 season.

We are three and a half months away from the NHL trade deadline on March 7, but trade rumors are already flowing around the league. The Boston Bruins have already been connected to prospective deals, owing to their dismal start to the season, which resulted in the sacking of Jim Montgomery.

As the trade deadline approaches, more and more names will emerge, and one NHL insider, Chris Johnston of The Athletic, has produced his first trade board for the 2024-25 season. The list has 25 names, two of which are Bruins members.

Bruins have two players to NHL insider’s early-season trade board

Two current Bruins members made Johnston’s list, and one of the names is quite stunning. Trent Frederic, who has already been the subject of trade talks this season, was on Johnston’s list, but captain Brad Marchand was directly above him.

Both players’ contracts are up at the end of the season, so it’s understandable that they’d be in high demand in the trade market. The Black and Gold could unload Frederic by March 7, but not Marchand.

It would be devastating if GM Don Sweeney traded his captain in any transaction. The second-year captain’s return for another season remains to be seen, but there has been a slight dip in his game this season, surgeries or not.

Taylor Hall, a former Bruins forward, is also on Johnson’s board. Traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in the summer of 2023 alongside Nick Foligno, the once-coveted wing has struggled this season. Could a reunion with the Bruins help him turn things around and provide the Black and Gold with a forward who can provide enthusiasm to their lineup? It’s improbable, but until he’s traded, you can speculate.
