Bo Nix, the Denver Broncos’ rookie quarterback, has been a hot subject this week following his excellent performance against the Atlanta Falcons the week before.
When questioned about Nix during an interview with Broncos Wire earlier this week, even Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway said “the sky’s the limit for him”.
“It appears they’ve found their guy…” [who will] continue to grow, rekindle that passion, and begin competing for world titles again,” Elway told Broncos Wire’s Brandon Walker on Wednesday.
After Wednesday’s practice, Nix was questioned about earning compliments from Elway and whether he’d like to meet the former quarterback and general manager.
“Yes, he is a legend,” Nix replied. “He’s a legend not only in our organization, but around the NFL. So, when a guy like that speaks, you should listen and pay attention. It’s a privilege to be in this position where individuals like that can discuss it. I believe, like most guys, they would like to speak with John Elway and pick his brain. Guys like that have a wealth of knowledge that they can give.
“It’s really amazing that I’m in that circumstance. Like you indicated, I think Davis [Webb] and Coach [Sean Payton] did an excellent job of educating me each week and then moving on to the next play. Learn from both successes and failures. I just feel like I’m in a nice place.”
Nix gets daily feedback from Payton and Webb, and he has spoken with Peyton Manning as well. Elway has yet to meet with the rookie quarterback, but he has praised him from afar. Denver’s quarterback is in good hands.
