Ola Aina scored a thunderbolt with his left foot in Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win against West Ham United.

Olaoluwa Temitayo Aina, a Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest full-back, is expected to receive a significant wage raise in his proposed new contract with his club, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old versatile defender joined the City Ground when his contract with Serie A team Torino terminated in 2023. He signed a one-year contract with Forest, with the option to extend for an additional year.

The extension clause was activated in May, extending the wing-back’s tenure with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side for another year and keeping him at the club until May.

Nottingham Forest are in early talks with defender Ola Aina about extending his contract, as the player is free to sign pre-contract agreements with any club starting next year.

According to The Athletic, the former Chelsea player is anticipated to receive a large pay increase as part of the proposed deal, reflecting his performance since joining the club in 2023. Several weeks of negotiations are now nearing a successful finish.

The versatile Aina has appeared in all of Forest’s English Premier League games this season, scoring one goal and contributing to the club’s strong start in the top level.

AC Milan, the Serie A heavyweights, are also interested in Aina’s services, but with an extended agreement in the works, the two-time UEFA Champions League champions want to keep the smoke away from Paulo Fonseca’s side.
