Braves Rival Orioles For The Signing Of $43 Million Rangers World Series Hero

Late Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that they had signed two-time Cy Young champion Blake Snell to a five-year deal.

This revelation has the rest of the league rushing to figure out how to compete with Los Angeles’ powerful roster.

Aside from Snell and Yusei Kikuchi, who were taken earlier this week, the starting pitching pool is still stacked with potential. Multiple World Series champions and All-Stars remain unsigned.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles are interested in a World Series hero.

“The Orioles and Braves are among the teams with interest in free agent Nathan Eovaldi,” Morosi stated in an email.

Eovaldi is a two-time World Series champion with a 4.07 career ERA. He won the World Series twice: in 2018 with the Boston Red Sox and again in 2023 with the Texas Rangers. The righty has a 3.05 lifetime playoff ERA in 79 2/3 innings.

He’s long been one of my most underestimated pitchers this winter, owing to the fact that many in the media anticipated him to return to the Rangers without a fight.

With the amount of money being thrown around, it’s hard to imagine that the right-hander won’t explore his other options, especially with two big-time contending teams, the Orioles and Braves, showing significant interest in him.

If anything, this will start a mini-bidding war, increasing his price by a few million dollars.
