NHL Player Safety has announced that Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable by the CBA, for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Zadorov earned the fine for poking Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin with his stick while on the bench. Malkin retaliated by swinging his stick toward the Bruins’ bench and striking defenceman Mason Lohrei. Because of this, the future Hall of Famer has been fined $5,000.

Zadorov, 29, has one goal, seven points, 50 penalty minutes, and 69 hits this season with the Bruins.
