The Boston Bruins will play a centenary game against the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden on Sunday to commemorate their 100th anniversary in the National Hockey League.
The famous Original Six franchise has published an incredible drone film soaring outside and inside its home location. JayByrd Films’ film is just over three minutes long and a must-see for any Bruins fan.
Bruins luminaries Bobby Orr, Cam Neely, Johnny Bucyk, Zdeno Chara, Willie O’Ree, Rick Middleton, Ray Bourque, Patrice Bergeron, Terry O’Reilly, Phil Esposito, and Brad Marchand appear throughout the film.
The video begins outdoors, with Orr admiring the statue in his honor, before moving inside, where Blades, the mascot, is making his way through security.
In a tribute to his time wearing the eight-Spoked-B, O’Reilly is seen sitting in the penalty box at rink level. O’Reilly has the most penalty minutes with the Bruins, with 2,095 in 891 games.
The drone flies into Heritage Hall, which houses mementos from the Bruins’ 100-year history. O’Ree and Bucyk are shown inspecting some of the artifacts before the drone soars far above the ice, highlighting the club’s president, Neely, and the NESN broadcast team of ex-Bruin Andy Brickley and new play-by-play announcer Judd Sirrott.
The film concludes with previous captains Chara and Bergeron savoring the Stanley Cup. The two helped the Bruins win their first championship in 39 years in 2011. Current Bruins captain Marchand is pictured skating on the Garden rink, indicating that he is the sole member of the 2011 squad currently playing.
The Bruins also unveiled a centennial monument on Saturday with plenty of legends in attendance as part of the celebration leading up to the game.
Puck drop for the Bruins-Canadiens game is set for 4:15 p.m. ET, and you can watch all the action on NESN.
