In one of three moves prior to their game against the Minnesota Vikings, the Seattle Seahawks signed quarterback Jaren Hall from the practice squad on Saturday.

In addition, Seattle put linebacker Trevis Gipson on injured reserve and promoted cornerback Artie Burns from the practice squad.
After starting quarterback Geno Smith left last week’s game against the Packers in the third quarter due to a knee injury, Hall was added to the active roster. Smith did not have a classification on Friday’s final injury report for the game, though, and participated fully in practice all week.
Seattle can use Hall as an emergency third quarterback behind Smith and backup Sam Howell without using up any of its 48-man active roster for the game because he is currently on the roster.
The Vikings selected Hall in the fifth round of the previous season. In 2023, he completed 13 of 20 throws for 168 yards and one interception in his three games.
Burns re-signed with the practice squad on Wednesday after the Seahawks dismissed him on Tuesday. This season, the seasoned cornerback has made one appearance and recorded one tackle and two passes defended.
Due to an ankle ailment, Gipson was unable to play in Friday’s game. Despite making five appearances, the fifth-year pro has not played since Week 5.
