The Indianapolis Colts have placed a key practice piece on an injured list ahead of the New York Giants.
Following a crucial win over the Tennessee Titans, the Indianapolis Colts added cornerback Tre Flowers on the Practice Squad Injured list on Monday.
Flowers is a veteran defender who’s played for the Seattle Seahawks (2018-2021), Cincinnati Bengals (2021-2022), Atlanta Falcons (2023), and Jacksonville Jaguars (2024). Flowers has four tackles this year, one on special teams with Indy. He’s tallied 287 tackles (four for loss), five fumbles forced, 22 passes defended, and four interceptions throughout his tenure.
While Flowers isn’t a key member of Gus Bradley’s defense, every player counts when the playoffs are still conceivable. Key cornerbacks such as Kenny Moore II, Samuel Womack II, and Jaylon Jones will be the focus of coverage. Also, JuJu Brents had limited practice time last week, so his availability against the New York Giants in Week 17 is something to watch.
The Colts are currently 7-8 after defeating the Titans 38-30 at Lucas Oil Stadium, leaving the door open for limited postseason hopes. The Colts will need all of the guys and depth they can acquire as the 2024 regular season winds down; we’ll see what occurs during Christmas week before Indy travels to the northeast.
