“It Would Be A Natural Outcome To Return To Green Bay”: The Green Bay Packers To Bring Back Their Defensive In 2025…

This offseason, the Green Bay Packers want to make a major revamp at the cornerback position. This offseason, it was one of the football team’s shortcomings.

The Green Bay Packers may also cut ties with cornerback Jaire Alexander, and Eric Stokes will not be re-signed. Another cornerback that might not be on the team for the 2025 NFL season is Keisean Nixon. In order to strengthen that position for the upcoming season, Green Bay will consider all available options.

In 2025, Rasul Douglas, who was formerly a member of the Packers squad, might return. Mason Cameron, a writer for Pro Football Focus, believes that the Green Bay Packers would be Rasul Douglas’s ideal destination for the upcoming campaign. Cameron stated:

“The Packers traded Douglas to the Bills in 2023, but after his struggles in 2024, a reunion with Douglas would be a natural outcome this offseason. Douglas produced a 71.0-plus PFF coverage grade in each season with the Packers. With Eric Stokes set to become a free agent and Jaire Alexander missing the better part of the last two seasons, a reunion with Douglas makes sense.” Douglas is 29 years old and will turn 30 on August 29, just before the 2025 NFL season begins. He recorded 58 tackles, one forced fumble, zero interceptions, and five pass deflections in his final season with the Buffalo Bills, and if the Green Bay Packers brought him back for the following season, he would be an improvement over Stokes as the number two cornerback.

What Green Bay does with Alexander will be the multimillion-dollar question of the offseason for this team, and it could mean that Rasul Douglas and Jaire Alexander will be paired together once more.

Even if Rasul Douglas returns to the Green Bay Packers next season, they will still need to find a new number-one cornerback. They will likely find more cornerbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft, trade, or more free agents on the market. Free agency does not start until March. While it is entertaining to speculate about whether Rasul Douglas will return to the Green Bay Packers, there is a chance he could return to the Buffalo Bills if his market is thin.
