JUST NOW: Unveiling His Desire To Hire An Offensive Coordinator, Nick Saban

NFL

Prior to the Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame game, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban spent some time on the College Gameday set on Saturday.

He had a fantastic time mingling with the panelists and the boisterous crowd in College Station.
While having fun with the group, Saban disclosed whose offensive coordinator he had always tried to employ at Alabama and opened up to saying kind things about one of his erstwhile rivals.

“One of the offensive coordinators I always tried to hire at Alabama, but I could never get him,” stated head coach Nick Saban. He is in Boise. He’ll perform admirably. “That’s because you were spending all your money on your players, coach,” Pat McAfee retorted.
The group selected Boise State to defeat Georgia Southern in the season’s first game. The Broncos are hoping to improve on their 8-6 result from the previous year.

Koetter has been the offensive coordinator at Boise State since 2022. Before that, he was the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL for over 15 years.

This season, Koetter will also assume the role as quarterbacks coach in addition to his role as offensive coordinator.

Thanks to a potent rushing offense, Boise State averaged a respectable 32.1 points per game last season. However, the passing game was rather lacking after quarterback Maddux Madsen suffered an injury midway through the campaign.

After his performance on Saturday, fans everywhere will undoubtedly be looking for more Saban on College Gameday.
