The Rams signed a man who was essential to Ipswich Town’s campaign for promotion, and they also signed their second acquisition of the day.

Marcus Harness, a winger for Ipswich Town, has agreed to a loan deal with Derby County.

With the signing of Nat Phillips, the Championship promotion winner inked a deal that would last until the end of the season in what was their second deal of deadline day.

The previous season, Harness was crucial to Ipswich’s push for promotion, which saw the Tractor Boys earn a spot in the Premier League.

The winger has featured twice for Kieran McKenna’s side this season which came on the opening day in a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool and then in the 4-1 reverse at Manchester City.

Harness, who made 39 appearances for Town in all competitions the previous season, will rejoin with Kayden Jackson, a teammate from Ipswich who joined the club this summer.

Paul Warne, the head coach of Derby, now has a lot of choices on the wings with Jackson, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Tom Barkhuizen, and Corey Blackett-Taylor all fighting for spots out wide.
Following the additions of Jerry Yates, David Ozoh, Tawanda Chirewa, and Phillips, Derby currently has five loans, the maximum number a side can have in a matchday squad. Harness’s arrival brings Derby’s total to five.
