JUST IN: Kalen DeBoer on Ryan Williams’ self-management style

Uncategorized

Former five-star Ryan Williams has had a significant influence at Alabama. Following another impressive performance in the Crimson Tide’s 42-10 victory over Wisconsin, not many rookies had the same impact.

Williams’ four touchdowns in the game came from a 31-yard touchdown he shared with quarterback Jalen Milroe to start Alabama’s scoring.
It is obvious that Williams is not like any other 17-year-old who has ever set foot on a collegiate football field. Williams is enthralling the college football world and is quickly approaching consideration for SEC Freshman of the Year because of his podcast skills, big play potential, and charming celebrations.
In addition to describing what he observes in Williams off the field, head coach Kalen DeBoer said he feels he has something special with the player. “What strikes me as so remarkable about him (Williams) is not only his business-like approach to football, but also his ability to maintain a lively and engaging demeanor,” DeBoer remarked. “He is free when you have the opportunity to be free.” Adversity is inevitable, so DeBoer is aware that things will not always be sunshine and roses for Williams, but the head coach has faith in Williams’ capacity to overcome those challenges.

DeBoer said, “Let him be him.” “He is a pleasure to be around, but that is what I want all of our players to be…He is just completely focused on doing what it takes to reach his greatest potential.”
