BREAKING: Rams Trades Former All-Pro Cornerback from Bills

NFL

The Los Angeles Rams have begun to recover from a potentially disastrous series of injuries to begin the season, which is good news for the team but bad news for veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White.

After starting the first four games of the season for the Rams, White has been a healthy scratch for the last three, being replaced in the starting lineup by Darious Williams after returning from a hamstring injury.
As a result, trade whispers have begun to circulate about White, a former first-team All-Pro for the Buffalo Bills. Sure enough, following the team’s stunning Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings, the Rams gave White permission to seek a trade before the league’s trade deadline.
White has struggled hard for Los Angeles this season, allowing 66.7 percent of passes where he was the closest defender to be completed, with opposing quarterbacks having an insane passer rating of 138.4 on throws targeted at White. White has only played in 10 games over the last two seasons due to injuries, and he has already missed three more games this season with the Rams owing to poor play, which has resulted in him being designated as a healthy scratch.
With White floundering and Los Angeles having no snaps to offer him, the organization decided to let him test the trade market and see if he could find another team willing to trade for him before the deadline. White is unlikely to return to the heights he achieved earlier in his career, but he may still have something to offer a playoff contender in need of a cornerback. With the Rams willing to trading him, it will be intriguing to see whether he can find a new team in the coming weeks.
