The Indianapolis Colts addressed an offensive line need by adding a well-known name.
Glowinski is a familiar sight to Colts fans, as the 2015 fourth-round pick played four seasons in Indianapolis from 2018 to 2021. Glowinski was grabbed off waivers by the Colts from the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 and helped transform Indianapolis’ offensive line into one of the best in the league. He is largely regarded as one of General Manager Chris Ballard’s outstanding waiver claims during his career with the Colts.
During his four seasons with the Colts, the former West Virginia Mountaineer started 55 of 59 games. Glowinski left the Colts in free agency and signed a three-year, $18.3 million contract with the New York Giants. However, he was released by the Giants in March as a cap casualty and for poor performance.
Glowinski adds depth to a Colts offensive line that is coping with numerous ailments. Will Fries is out for the season, while Ryan Kelly is also on injured reserve. Bernhard Raimann is dealing with a knee issue that held him out of action against the New York Jets as well.
Glowinski can play either guard position if needed, and he may replace rookie Dalton Tucker, who has struggled at right guard in recent weeks. If nothing else, Glowinski provides insurance in the center of an offensive line charged with protecting Anthony Richardson down the stretch.
We will see what impact Glowinski can have as the Colts prepare for the daunting task of beating the Detroit Lions.
