Former Bruins Forward Having Issues With New Team

This former Bruins forward is struggling with his new team.

Danton Heinen was one of numerous players who left the Boston Bruins this offseason. The Langley, British Columbia native signed a two-year, $4.5 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

Heinen had a solid season after signing with the Bruins following a successful professional tryout (PTO) last season. In 74 games, the 29-year-old winger recorded 17 goals, 36 points, and a plus-16 rating. Overall, he proved to be a good bargain deal for the Boston Bruins.

However, Heinen is now on a long cold spell with the Canucks. The 2014 fourth-round pick has gone eight games without scoring a point. He also has a minus-2 rating throughout that time.

Given his skill, Heinen has the ability to rebound and offer the Canucks with solid secondary scoring, like he did in Boston. However, things aren’t going his way right now, so we’ll have to wait and see whether he can warm back up soon.

Heinen has three goals, seven assists, and a plus-3 rating through 25 games with the Canucks this season.
