Josh Jacobs was anticipated to have an instant and significant influence on the Green Bay Packers’ offense when they signed him as a running back over the offseason.
The Packers, who signed the former Alabama Crimson Tide star tailback to a four-year contract worth $48 million last March, are pleased with Jacobs’ first season thus far.
The Packers now hope that their best running back will qualify for the NFL Pro Bowl. The Packers made a social media statement on Tuesday night urging their fans to support Jacobs.
The 26-year-old Jacobs is currently the league’s fourth most-voted running back as of Monday. The only players with more votes than Jacobs are the Detroit Lions’ Jahmyr Gibbs, the Baltimore Ravens’ Derrick Henry, and the Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley.
In his debut season with the Green Bay Packers, Josh Jacobs has the potential to set a new career high.
Jacobs has already amassed 1,053 running yards and 11 touchdowns on 239 carries so far in the 2024 NFL regular season.
He had 12 running touchdowns in the 2020 and 2022 seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he is just one rushing touchdown shy from matching his career-high.
