The Seattle Seahawks will commemorate the 12s with the first-ever drone-powered NFL halftime performance this Sunday night at Lumen Field versus the Green Bay Packers. It is indeed a drone show!
A drone business called Sky Elements is operating the performance, which is expected to run for about ten minutes.
The following statement is part of the news that was posted on Seahawks.com on Wednesday afternoon:
More than 500 drones will provide fans with a vibrant, entertaining, and interactive show honoring the 12s’ illustrious past. The team will [celebrate] the retirement of the fan-honoring No. 12 jersey during Sunday’s game. The first professional sports team to retire a jersey in appreciation of its supporters was Seattle. The 12s have twice broken the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd noise at a sporting event and are regarded as one of the loudest supporter bases in all of professional sports. There are 12s everywhere these days, supporting their Seahawks, waving their 12 flags, and donning their 12 shirts.
There have been NFL drone shows before, but this one is being billed as the “first-ever halftime drone show.” similar to this one prior to 2022’s Super Bowl LVI:
Everything seems really good, and I am fine with it as long as Taima is not hit.
