Former 12-year Major League Baseball veteran Ehire Adrianza has announced his retirement at the age of 35.

Adrianza had stints with the Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Angels. Adrianza made the announcement via his Instagram page

“This journey has been incredibly challenging, filled with ups and downs, but every step along the way has been a blessing that I cherish immensely,” Adrianza told me. “I’ve dreamed of winning the World Series since I was a child, an ambition that once seemed far-fetched and seemingly unreachable. However, because to my hard work, commitment, and the unfailing support of each of you, that ambition has become a reality. I still can’t believe I’ve had the distinction of playing in the Major Leagues for almost a decade. I never anticipated I’d accomplish so much, and it’s incredible to reflect on this experience.”

Adrianza played for several different clubs, but he was a member of the Braves’ 2021 World Series-winning team. Throughout the 2021 postseason, the veteran made ten pinch-hit appearances, six of which came in the National League Championship Series. The righty had a double and scored a run in the NLCS.

The 35-year-old slashed .237/.307/.352 for his career, making his earnings due to his defensive versatility. Adrianza played every position on the field besides catcher. He even made three pitching appearances during the latter part of his career.
