BREAKING: Rams fined $100,000 for pushing Aiyuk, an inactive player.

In Week 3, the Rams defeated the 49ers; nonetheless, Los Angeles is said to have to make up for the heated play that ended the game. Following an altercation in the closing moments of the game between 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and inactive cornerback Derion Kendrick, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero claimed on Saturday, citing sources, that the Rams organization was fined $100,000 by the league. According to sources, the Rams were fined $100,000 by the NFL for an incident that occurred last week after the last play, in which an inactive player assaulted #49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Derion Kendrick, an inactive player, was fined $5,656 for acting in an unsportsmanlike manner. The altercation happened at the conclusion of San Francisco’s disheartening 27-24 loss at SoFi Stadium, where the club blew a 14-point first-quarter lead to a struggling Los Angeles squad. In the final play of the game, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy made a desperate throw with the clock winding down in the fourth quarter. After a sequence of laterals, the ball found its way into Aiyuk’s hands, where he was tackled close to the Rams’ sideline. Unrelated to the late-game altercation, two Los Angeles linebackers were also punished for their performances in the game last Sunday: Byron Young was fined $7,014 for a low contact on Purdy, and Christian Rozeboom must pay $7,778 for needless roughness (facemask). No 49ers players were fined for the game in Week 3. And now, on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Week 4, San Francisco will try to get back against the New England Patriots.
