An American football player has been captured in Texas for supposedly hitting his small kid with a tree limb.

Adrian Peterson, who plays for NFL side Minnesota Vikings, handed himself over to the specialists almost immediately Saturday.

Hours sooner he had been accused of crazy or careless injury to a youngster, and he is presently being hung on a $15,000 ( £9,000) bond.

Mr Peterson’s lawyer said he lamented the occurrence and never expected to hurt the four-year-old.

He said the athlete “involved his judgment as a parent to train his child.”

The charges come only days after one more NFL star had his agreement ended for hitting his better half.
As per US media reports, the occurrence including Mr Peterson occurred in the town of Spring, Texas, in May.

The footballer is said to have rebuffed his child after he pushed one more of his kids off a motorbike computer game.

Nearby media said the “whooping” – which is the way Mr Peterson purportedly alluded to the episode during a police interview – brought about slices and injuries to the kid’s back, hindquarters, legs and scrotum.

Mr Hardin said his client was a “cherishing father” who had “utilized the very sort of discipline with his kid that he encountered as a youngster experiencing childhood in east Texas”.

“It is essential to recollect that Adrian never planned to hurt his child and profoundly laments the unexpected injury,” he added.

The Minnesota Vikings said Mr Peterson wouldn’t be chosen to play in that frame of mind against the New Britain Nationalists.

Recently, the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens ended the agreement of Beam Rice, one of their headliners, after the arrival of a video seeming to show him punching his better half.
