For the first time since his 15-month-old son passed away unexpectedly in March, Francis Ngannou is speaking into a microphone.
His words are nothing short of heartbreaking. On Tuesday, Ngannou appeared on Joe Rogan’s “JRE MMA Show,” where he discussed a wide range of topics, including the events that led up to his son Kobe’s death.
Ngannou revealed that his son had fainted twice due to mild brain inflammation. They were in Cameroon at the time of the first incident, but he claimed that the doctors did not find anything. In Saudi Arabia, the second incident occurred.
He said while they didn’t play out a sweep or a X-ray … the specialists accepted Kobe had an enlarged lung – – which was squeezing against his chest and keeping him from relaxing.
They advised him that he would be fine and gave him medication. After that, Francis said that he “put his guard down” and believed that the problem could be fixed by the doctors.
After that, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC ended up in Dubai, though how much time passed between those two events is unknown.
He said he found out about Kobe’s death at that point. Ngannou stated, “My phone rang; it was my little brother, saying, “Bro, things are not going well here.”” “He said Kobe was unconscious,” We are at the hospital, he is not breathing, and they kicked me out of the room.
When I was disconnected… Francis tried to get more information by calling back. While talking with his sibling, a medical caretaker emerged and let the cat out of the bag of his child’s passing while he was on the other line. Despite the unimaginable tragedy that Ngannou has endured, he stated that the knowledge that he will soon see his son brings him peace.
