Jonah Williams, the starting right tackle for the Arizona Cardinals, hurt his knee during their season-opening defeat to the Buffalo Bills, therefore the team placed him on injured reserve.

On Wednesday, head coach Jonathan Gannon made this announcement and said he was “not going to guess” as to how long Williams would be sidelined. Williams will be out for at least four games as a result of being placed on injured reserve.

One potential successor is Kelvin Beachum, a veteran. He entered the game in Williams’ place following the injury.
“We feel comfortable about everyone that enters the game,” Gannon remarked. Yes, there is a certain amount of comfort with Beach considering his background and quantity of games played. But we will have faith that whoever is inside will finish the job.

The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Williams had played four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals before inking a two-year, $30 million contract with the Cardinals in the offseason. He was selected eleventh overall from Alabama in the 2019 draft.
