JUST NOW: A Word From Nick Saban to the Football Players of West Virginia and His Loved State

Before Georgia Tech and No. 10 Florida State kick off the college football season, Nick Saban will make his live debut as a regular panelist on ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday morning from Dublin, Ireland.

In addition to talking about a range of college football subjects, including Pat McAfee’s old institution, the West Virginia Mountaineers, Saban also made a lot of comments about them when he appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday.

McAfee asked Saban what he thought of the program, joking that the Mountaineers were on track for a 12-0 season.

Saban’s evaluation of West Virginia football was spot-on, as usual.

Observe, I am a mountaineer. That’s my hometown,” Saban commenced. “The fact that you performed there is something I greatly like. It was where I coached. I adore my state, too. At the conclusion, Saban made a jest with McAfee, “But their program has not been able to sustain the kind of success that they’ve had in the past and hopefully they’ll get back to having that kind of success in the future, especially with your impact on Name, Image, and Likeness.”

The local band in the tavern that McAfee was broadcasting from then started playing energetic Irish music in an awesome clip.
